Do you do trial lessons?
Yes. We offer paid trial lessons at $49 for a 30 minute class. This is to allow us to assess your child's swimming competency so as to ensure he/she would be placed into a appropriate class.
What is your rain/lightning policy?
In the event of lightning, the lesson will not go on.
- If less than 50% of the lesson is completed, we will offer a makeup for the class;
- If more than 50% of the lesson is completed, subsequent lessons will be extended to make up for the time.
What if I have to cancel the swimming lessons?
Reservations can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to start time with no charge. In the event of sudden cancellation with reason, an official medical certificate/ letter may be requested. If the reason for late cancellation is invalid, you will be charged for the session.
How are lesson fees paid?
Fees are paid in advance, by term (3 months). Preferred payment is via PayNow or Bank Transfer (Payment details are provided on the Invoice which will be emailed on the beginning of every term).
What are the registration costs?
There is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $50. The registration includes a free starter kits and all collaterals that are provided by the school.
How long are the swimming lessons?
For Preparatory and Swim Basics 1, the class will be 30 minutes.
For Swim Basics and Swim Strokes, the class will be 45 minutes.
What is your makeup lesson policy?
If a class is missed due to personal/medical reasons or bad weather, we will provide make-up vouchers for a replacement class at a mutually agreeable time otherwise it will be considered as expired. Medical Certificate would be required if unable to notify us 24 hours prior to the start of lesson.
What if my child is ill/sick for a prolonged period of time?
Please contact our team if your child is expected to be unable to swim for an extended period of time.
What happens if The Starting Block cancels the lesson in advance?
If The Starting Block Swim School cancels the lesson due to pool closure, instructor sickness, etc. We will arrange for a makeup at a mutually agreeable time within the month. Otherwise, make-up vouchers will be provided.
